What is First tee?
Challis Golf Course is proudly partnering with First Tee, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality programs and golf skill instruction to youths throughout the United States. Chapters are based on location, but every program is taught using unique golf techniques that are designed to make the game fun and accessible to everyone.
Each lesson will focus on a different component of the game, and introduce core values and life skills to go along with that theme. Students may bring their own clubs or borrow from our assortment of various club sizes. We also recommend that students bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen to stay safe throughout the day.
Our Mission
The mission of First Tee of Challis is to educate, inspire, and help shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect, and perseverance, as well as build solid social skills through the game of golf. The success of this program speaks for itself: 3.7 million children become part of a chapter every year, 85% of participants say First Tee helped them become a better student while enrolled in the program, 91% became actively involved in community service, and many have gone on to pursue golf professionally!
